Casinetto Petitot - Piazzale Risorgimento 9/A

A place where to meet and speak of culture: this was the purpose of the Casinetto Petitot, and its original spirit is the reason why even today various organizations still meet up there. The neoclassical style building, small and visually impacting as it is raised above street level, is considered one of the first cafés ever in Italy, purposely a public structure by will of the French Prime Minister Du Tillot. The Petitot is located at the vanishing point of the wide street, which became a tree-lined boulevard in perfect French tone after restyling by the architect Petitot. The café soon became the main hangout spot of the Parmesan nobles.
