Discover how to make traditional balinese coconut-based snack in Kuta
In Bali, there are several types of traditions that require the presence of certain snacks at religious events, such as the Jaje Uli. Mrs Ni Made Margi began cooking Jaje Uli at home 50 years ago. At first, it was only for religious ceremonies, but today she teaches the preparation of Jaje Uli in her own way, preserving the traditional recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation.
You will take part in a workshop to learn how to make this traditional Balinese snack, in the house of Mrs Ni Made Margi. All processes are still conducted in the traditional way and your host uses natural ingredients without artificial preservatives. At the end, you will taste the traditional Jaje Uli that you have prepared.
