"The small townhouse, of white stone and reddish paint, looks quite unimpressive. But it holds a secret that made it a target of the Yugoslav government during the 1960s. The cellar was a disco club. And not only was it the first of its kind in Belgrade, but also in Yugoslavia. It was open daily, the entrance was free and a DJ was pleasing the crowd hungry for dance and music and party. Many artists frequented the club, even international stars like C. Deneuve and J. Dench. A year later the club faced the wrath of the establishment. Accusations of being the headquarters of the CIA and harbouring foreign spies came up. It became topic of an extraordinary session of the high court of Yugoslavia, where it was decided to close it. And in fact it did close. The cellar. The club moved quietly to the first floor. Where it still is. And just around the corner there is another bar, called KGB. "
