Secret History
"Hm, wasn’t the name Bond, now you are thinking. And you are right, if you are referring to the books and movies. But the real life inspiration for Ian Fleming was actually Duško Popov, a Serbian spy for the British, German, and Yugoslavian, his fellow agent in MI6. In between his assignments and his bohemian lifestyle, he manages to play a crucial part in the ending of WW II, tries to warn the Americans about Pearl Harbor and shares his stories with Fleming. He also tells him about the phone number of his uncle who is always there to help him: 26-007.
