The Bordeaux Amphitheatre built in the 2nd century and also called Palais Gallien, is a major place of cultural interest in Bordeaux. But leave the beaten track and just a few meters away is the square of Palais Gallien. Far less visited, this square, with its long benches, palm trees and doors painted in blue, looks very much like a typical square in the small Spanish towns of Andalusia. But keep the place to yourself, lest the calm be disturbed.
