Join free cultural events in the green heart of London at Serpentine Gallery's Saturdays Live. Set in verdant Kensington Gardens, the weekly happenings bring you poetry readings, author chats, live music and displays of dance - ranging from folk to interpretive. Art plays a big part in the interactive displays. Serpentine has two renowned galleries. One exhibition space is housed in a former tea pavilion that dates to 1933, while the other lies in an erstwhile gunpowder store that was built in 1805. They're connected by a bridge spanning Serpentine Lake. So after the show, you can hop in a pedal boat for a placid cruise around London’s oldest (and arguably most iconic) boating lake.
