Where to find the top Emily in Paris locations
Live your time in Paris like Emily would: create your own unforgettable memories in the city that makes dreams come true...
Day 1
Morning
Emily’s day starts in the Latin Quarter, and today so does yours. The handsome townhouse in Place de l’Estrapade contains Emily’s apartment and later becomes home to sharp-tongued Mindy and their cohort of friends, Gabriel, Camille and Sofia. It’s the most popular Emily in Paris photo spot so expect to see fans lining up for their selfies by the front door.
- Place de l’Estrapade, 75005
Time for breakfast? Stop by the Boulangerie Moderne Rabineau, where Emily tastes her first divine pain au chocolat. It’s just a few minutes’ stroll from her apartment and sells tempting pâtisseries and croissants to give a calorific kick-start to your day.
- 16 Rue des Fossés Saint-Jacques, 75005
- Open Mon–Fri 7am–8pm
And for a little gentle sightseeing to ease you into the sheer majesty of Paris, you’ll now have the colonnaded, neo-classical Panthéon within your sights. Emily may have broken up with her Chicago boyfriend standing outside, but you should go in to visit the tomb of Victor Hugo, see the lavish frescoes and admire the soaring dome.
- Place du Panthéon, 75005
- Open daily Apr–Sept 10am-6:30pm; Oct–Mar 10am–6pm.
- Admission €13
Meander through the Jardin du Luxembourg (frequented by Emily on her morning jogs) and over the Pont Neuf (on which she makes a career decision), stopping on the bridge for spectacular views over the Île de la Cité. Hopefully by now – it’s a half-hour walk – you’ve worked up an appetite for lunch; bag a table at Le Café Marly, an Emily in Paris location and Parisian institution with a tempting bistro menu.
Le Café Marly
- 93 Rue de Rivoli, 75001.
- Open daily 8am–2am.
Afternoon
You’ll have fantastic views of yet another Emily in Paris filming location from Le Café Marly. The historic Musée du Louvre’s landmark glass pyramid is virtually on the doorstep, so we suggest a deep dive into its many art masterpieces for the rest of the afternoon. Highlights include the Mona Lisa and Michelangelo’s Slaves in a wonderful collection that covers pretty much everything from Egyptian antiquities to Islamic art. A stay at Mercure Paris Opéra Louvre puts you 15 minutes on foot from this world-renowned gallery.
- 75001
- Open Wed–Mon 9am–6pm (Wed and Fri until 9pm)
- Admission €22
Evening
Five minutes’ walk from the Louvre is the Jardin du Palais Royale – Emily first meets Mindy there and has a picnic lunch with her on a bench by the fountain. To round off your first day of Emily in Paris locations in style, splash out on inventive fine dining at Le Grand Véfour. Run by two-star Michelin chef Guy Martin, this is a gastronomic treat that needs reserving in advance – Emily never made it as she booked the wrong date.
Le Grand Véfour
- 17 Rue de Beaujolais, 75001
- Open Tue–Sat 12:15pm–1:45 p.m, 7pm–9:30pm
Day 2
Morning
So, a lazy beginning to the day over a brunch of charcuterie sharing plates and seasonal salads at Le Relais de la Butte – handy if you’re staying at Mercure Paris Butte Montmartre Basilique – in oh-so-pretty hilltop Montmartre, where Emily, Mindy and Alfie were seen heatedly discussing work issues.
- 12 Rue Ravignan, 75018
- Open daily 8am–1am
Work off brunch with a 15-minute stroll down cobblestone Rue de l’Abreuvoir – arguably bohemian Montmartre’s most picturesque lane and scene of Emily’s “bed” campaign – and on to the gleaming-white Basilique du Sacré-Coeur. Here you have fantastic panoramas over the City of Light at the spot where she launched her first Insta video. Pop inside to see the vibrant blue-and-gold Christ in Majesty mosaic in the apse, and if you have time, take the guided tour up the dome for more astounding views over Emily in Paris locations.
Basilique du Sacré-Coeur
- 35 Rue du Chevalier de la Barre, 75018
- Open daily 6:30am–10:30pm
- Admission free
Afternoon
Walk to Abbesses métro and jump on Line 12 to Gare Montparnasse; from there catch a train to Versailles-Chantiers (a regular service takes about 20 minutes, grab a macaron from Ladurée Gare Montparnasse as a delicious snack on-the-go). You’re off to the Palace of Versailles, backdrop to Gregory Dupree’s fashion show under frothy chandeliers in the Hall of Mirrors. Expect to spend several hours exploring this opulent 17th-century confection and its formal landscaped gardens.
- Place d’Armes, 78000 Versailles
- Opening hours vary seasonally, but roughly 9am–5:30pm daily (the palace is closed Mon, the gardens open every day)
- Admission starts at €21
Evening
Once back in central Paris by rail, we suggest a riverboat tour down the River Seine as a delightfully romantic way to round up a couple more Emily in Paris locations. From Gare Montparnasse, get yourself by taxi (about €10) or métro Line 6 to Bir Hakeim, a short hop along the Left Bank from the Port de la Bourdonnais. Once there, board a Bateaux Parisiens dinner cruise to enjoy quality French ingredients in inspired dishes as you float past the elegant Eiffel Tower (Emily had several dates in restaurants nearby) sparkling against the night sky. A little further on, you’ll pass under the decorative, gilded Pont Alexandre III, which is also beautifully illuminated after dark . Emily filmed an ad campaign for Maison Lavaux perfumes on this very bridge.
- Port de la Bourdonnais, 7500
- Cruise departures at 6:15pm and 8:30pm
- Prices start at €99
Wrap up your adventure by shopping for unusual Parisian souvenirs that are as stylish and quirky as Emily herself. Don't forget to find somewhere comfortable and charming to lay your head!
