THE EXPRESS FROM THE "DARKET PERU"
London
Platform 1 Paddington Station, 19 Eastbourne Terrace, Paddington
On Platform 1 of Paddington Station, you will find the statue of children’s favourite fictional character, Paddington Bear, by sculptor Marcus Cornish. The author of the popular children’s stories, Michael Bond, created Paddington Bear after purchasing a toy bear for his wife and naming it after their local station. The first of Paddington’s adventures appeared in 1958, and are still every bit as popular with children (and grown-up children!) today. And whether or not your name is Brown, you can adopt your very own Paddington Bear at the nearby kiosk.
