Young - and young in spirit - travellers from across the globe come to have their pictures taken with Paddington Bear. A bronze statue of the beloved fictional character stands (well, actually sits) in his namesake Paddington Station. It's a fitting spot. It was Christmas Eve in 1956 when author Michael Bond spotted a teddy bear in a toy shop near the 19th-century station. He was inspired to create the tale of a travelling bear that's since been featured in more than 20 books, and spawned two feature films.
