HAVE A VISIT WITH PADDINGTON BEAR

London

Paddington Station, Praed Street

Young - and young in spirit - travellers from across the globe come to have their pictures taken with Paddington Bear. A bronze statue of the beloved fictional character stands (well, actually sits) in his namesake Paddington Station. It's a fitting spot. It was Christmas Eve in 1956 when author Michael Bond spotted a teddy bear in a toy shop near the 19th-century station. He was inspired to create the tale of a travelling bear that's since been featured in more than 20 books, and spawned two feature films. After your snapshot, head upstairs to the Paddington Bear Shop, the world's only store devoted to all things Paddington. Browse books, hats and replicas of our furry friend's trademark suitcase.
