Quinta de Los Molinos, on Calle de Alcalá, boasts some 25 hectares of land with a large number of olive groves, pine and eucalyptus trees, as well as fountains and a lake. Delightful all year round, the very best time to visit, however, is during a two to three week period between late February and early March. Why? This is when the park’s numerous almond trees are in blossom. The gasp-out-loud beauty of the white and pink flowers, their heady scent, and the sense of wonder they inspire leave you feeling transported to another time and place, far from Madrid’s bustling, exuberant city centre. The perfect spot to while away the hours with a picnic or a good book!
