The island of Malta is one of the most mysterious and legendary places in the Mediterranean. Spirits, secret places, and haunted monuments such as some forts with unique stories. Fort Ricasoli is said to be inhabited by the il-Hares, a ghostly creature who told two villagers the location of a bountiful treasure on the condition that they would not tell anyone. The villagers bragged about the find before stumbling upon it, and when they arrived at the spot il-Hares had told them about, they not only found coal instead of gold and jewels, but also received a stern rebuke.
