Back in 1988, the German TV talkshow “Live from the Slaughterhouse” moved into the Wirtshaus im Schlachthof pub, a former abattoir. Some of Germany’s best-known journalists and talkshow hosts cut their teeth in the often heated debates held here. The Wirtshaus im Schlachthof has barely changed since the eighties, and its repertoire still packs a political punch.
