It is more than 100 years old and it is the city’s oldest. Located in Munich’s historical centre, Filmtheater Sendlinger Tor is not like any other cinema. The film posters in front of the theatre have been hand painted by the same man for the past 25 years. His name? René Birkner. In just a single night, he produces a 3-meter high painting, sometimes resembling the official poster, sometimes not at all. René, in short, does what he likes.
