ARCHITECTURAL PICNIC

Hamburg

Überseeboulevard 4-10

For a long time nothing much went on down on the water in the Hafencity – but now everything’s changed. The harbour has been transformed into an urban cultural hub, with the Elbphilharmonie concert hall a spectacular example of recent development. For an earthier experience, cross the Busan Bridge to the Magdeburger Hafen where you’ll find a waterfront space with a unique vibe. Designed by Catalan architect Beth Galí, the area near the International Maritime Museum is lined with natural paving stones. The nearby food store has fantastic snacks, warm dishes – and anything else you might need for an architecturally-inspired picnic by the water!
