Mercure Hotels in Bradford
Located on the edge of town, our Mercure is one of the oldest hotels in Bradford and is set in a Gothic mansion house on the banks of the River Aire. Whether you are in town for business or planning a weekend away, our hotel is perfect for you. Set in West Yorkshire, on the outskirts of the city of Bradford, our Mercure also has transport links to both Leeds and Bradford International Airport. If you’re looking for some culture, head into the centre of Bradford, which holds the title of both UNESCO City of Film and the Curry Capital of Britain. Visit the interactive exhibits of the National Media Museum, immerse yourself in a film at the UK’s first IMAX theatre, before ending your day by sampling a delicious Balti from one of the many curry houses of the city. If you prefer something more traditional, our Mercure Bradford Bankfield is also well located for visiting the Salts Mills. Set in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Saltaire, the former Victorian textile mill is now home to the 1853 Gallery, which is home to a permanent exhibition of David Hockney’s art. The mill also houses many independent shops, with the Salts Book and Poster shop well worth a visit. Finally, a trip to Bradford isn’t complete without discovering the five rise locks. Just 10 minutes from the Mercure, if you’re lucky you may even see a boat pass through the Grade 1 listed staircase lock – which has a rise of 18m in total and has been helping boats pass along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal since 1774.
