WHERE BILL KLLED NANCY - OT NOT
London
Nancy’s Steps, Montague Close
If you visit London Bridge, you’ll find a modern structure that was unveiled in 1973. The original, built in the 19th century by John Rennie, was sold to an American millionaire in the 1960s. However, the arch and steps leading to the bridge belong to the original, and are popularly known as 'Nancy’s Steps'. It was here that Oliver Reed’s Bill Sikes murdered his prostitute girlfriend Nancy in the 1960s movie musical Oliver!. If that doesn’t quite match what you remember from Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, you’re right – in the novel, Nancy was murdered at home.
