Bristol has a vibrant street art scene and is also home to one of the world’s most celebrated street artists: Banksy. His work can be seen on many of the city’s streets and most are free to view. For the largest and most diverse collection of street art, head to Stokes Croft. This road, a former centre of industry during the mid-19th century, experienced heavy bombing during World War II. It rebuilt itself as a centre of art, music and counter-cultural lifestyle, and notably includes Banksy’s mural The Mild Mild West.
