WEDDING ON STILTS

Amsterdam

Petruskerk, Spaarndammerdijk 681

You probably think Sloterdijk’s industrial area is nothing more than a collection of corporations, highways and railways. Think again! In the midst of fast-paced connectivity lies a historical National Monument, untouched for almost 400 years. The Petrus Church, which survived a huge reconstruction in the sixties, serves as one of Amsterdam’s best kept secrets and a unique wedding location. Meike was paying homage to everyone who suffered from the many complications and risks of living 3 meters below sea-level. Discovering the Petrus Church means discovering the essence of living in the Netherlands.
