A true palace, known as Palácio Rosado or Palácio Cruz e Sousa - named after the great poet from Santa Catarina - it has been the headquarters of the Museu Histórico de SantaCatarina (Historical Museum of Santa Catarina) since 1986. There are a lot of stories and art, such as the allegorical statues carved by the Italian artist Gabriel Sielva, one of them being the patron of the state, Amphitrite, and the mythological god Mercury. In its interior, you can see a majestic staircase, Carrara marble balconies, bronze statues of medieval knights, and many other things, several of them made in Italy. The palace was also the stage of one of the greatest demonstrations against the military regime, which became known as Novembrada. It's never ending knowledge!
