Ever wanted to be fighter pilot? At the Solent Sky Museum you can take a seat in the cockpit of a fighter jet. The museum focuses on the aviation industry of the Southampton and Solent area, birthplace of the iconic Spitfire. Between 1910 and 1960, local manufacturers produced an incredible variety of machines, from experimental rocket fighters to helicopters and hovercraft. Take a look at over 20 aircraft from the golden age of aviation, including the Spitfire, the Supermarine S6 and the enormous Sandringham flying boat.
