Attingham Park Country House and Garden, Atcham

Attingham Park may be less well-known than many other National Trust properties, but it’s a treasure trove not to be missed. The 18th-century mansion is beautifully restored. Stroll through it to admire the contrasting rooms of the house’s 'masculine' and 'feminine' wings. Among the artworks in the Picture Gallery, look for the paintings of cattle, much loved by the fifth Lord Berwick. Wander the sprawling woodlands and deer park, and see what wildlife you can spot. The Arboretum and the Walled Garden are tranquil refuges. Why not take home some fresh garden vegetables from the Attingham shop as a tasty souvenir?
