THE CITY OF OAKS
Rovereto
Bosco Della Città - Doss di Gardolè
Roboretum, the Latin name of Rovereto, refers to a forest close to the city, where sessile oak trees were so abundant they became its symbol. Still today, just outside the residential area, you will find the Bosco della Città (city forest), the green lung of Rovereto. Once used to pasture farm animals, chop wood for the winter, and cultivate cereal, the forest is an uncontaminated setting where nature is free to grow and welcome a variety of wild animals.
To find the tree that gave the name to the town, though, you need to look hard. You want a clue? The sessile oak is a shorter, stronger oak compared to its cousins.
