Waiting in traffic in Cologne can be inspiring. In 1969, the artist Wolf Vostell, exasperated by the fumes and the noise of the busy street of Hohenzollernring, decided to make a statement. He purchased himself a car, parked it on the central median, and then covered the vehicle with a thick layer of concrete. His piece is meant to represent the suffocation felt by drivers.
