Sevenoaks

Shoreham Aircraft Museum, 13 High Street, Shoreham Village

Founded in 1978 by volunteer enthusiasts in an area that was known as Bomb Alley during WWII, the Shoreham Aircraft Museum houses hundreds of relics from crashed British and German aircraft. On display are artefacts from a wide range of aircraft including Spitfire, Hurricane, Me109, FW190, Ju88 and Do17. Engines, propellers, fuselage and wing sections, instruments, controls, bombs and weaponry are displayed alongside helmets, uniforms, insignia, documents, letters written home, photographs and eyewitness accounts. Together they tell the stories of the airmen who fought in the skies over southern England during World War II.
