At the corner of Newhaven Road and Stanley Road is a grey wall that seems perfectly ordinary. But look closely, and you will see a king’s head sculpted in the stone, about the size of a chess piece. Get a little closer and you will find similar mini sculptures: a stone thistle, a triangle topped with a rose and many others. Apparently, a neighbouring resident, a certain Mr. Sutherland, built the wall himself and slowly added fragments of sculptures that he had collected over the years.
