Nuraghe Riu Mulinu

One of the particularities of Sardinia is certainly the nuraghi, cone-shaped stone structures, an example of which is the Riu Mulinu.
Composed by a single tower with an over 26-ft diameter, the structure built around 1400 B.C. is surrounded by a wall much wider than the space it was designed to protect. Initially used as a military lookout due to its position on a high peak, the nuraghe later became a place of worship. This was proven by the findings of bones and other relics of sacrifices.
