It's right there at the heart of a residential area of Pankow in north Berlin. Built in the textbook Soviet architectural style of the 1970s, the former Iraq embassy in the GDR was abandoned in 1991, but remains as testament to a former age. Inside the building - a maze of offices on two floors and a machine room in the basement - highly confidential documents tell of time past. Old magazines take you straight back to the old days.
