It might be the picture of calm and tranquillity today, but don’t be fooled. In the 17th century, this road was the setting for supernatural happenings. For many years, Rue des Brigittines was home to a convent where strange phenomena were said to take place. Nuns reported frightful visions and heard ghastly cries. After an inquest, two sisters were accused of sorcery, with one of them admitting to having made a pact with the devil. The convent no longer exists, but the legend remains engraved in local memory.
