Carcassonne

1 Rue Violet-le-Duc, 11000 Carcassonne

Carcassonne’s fortified city walls make a perfect setting for historical films. Among them is the 1993 French film The Visitors by Jean-Marie Poiré. The crew needed to assemble and dismantle the massive steel camera rails as they went along to avoid having them appear in the shot. The Carcassonne rugby team was called in to help with the heavy lifting.
