About this city

Badajoz is a city that was originated in the year 875 AD. under the name of Batalyaus or Batalyaws, on the border between Spain and Portugal. The Arab Alcazaba, which is in the oldest part of the city located in the Cerro de la Muela, will take you back to the Arab era, as well as the Roman Theater of Mérida to Roman times. The symbol of the city is the Tower of Espantaperros that inspired the Golden one from Seville. You can also enjoy the Iberian Ham Route and Ribera del Guadiana Wine.
