Legend has it that, after fleeing with the Golden Fleece, the Argonauts, tired from running, decided to make a break, on the hill above the parting rivers. Good guess, the Sindi tribe which was occupying the terrain back then, was quite hospitable and welcomed them well. The Argonauts explored the surroundings, mount Avala and the Pannonian plain, and continued their journey. If you wish to pay tribute to the first tourists in Belgrade, step on the Kalemegdan plateau and enjoy the view of the two rivers – and if you are lucky, you will see the sun setting on the Golden Fleece.
