The Danish Wieck, another name for the Bay of Greifswald, is not only one of the most beautiful bays in northern Germany, but also a natural lagoon that is ideal for the first refreshing dip of the season. The best place to do this in spring is the white beach near Ludwigsburg. Here the water is calm and flat, and the temperatures are known to soar particularly quickly. In summer, the pine trees provide welcome shade and the rustic beach café serves up homemade cakes that taste delicious – especially after the first few laps of the year!
