Hidden Gems
Have you ever visited a philosophical garden? No? Well, the garden of Neukölln, a neighbourhood of South Berlin, would make a perfect first. Named in reference to Comenius, a teacher, philosopher and great traveller of the 16th century, the garden is cut by several paths, representing life’s paths. As for the plants, they represent the stages of life. The only problem? To enjoy the park, you must go through the entrance gate. But the neighbouring residents, who wish to keep the park to themselves, entertain themselves at times by blocking the gate. It goes to show you that life’s path is paved with obstacles.
