During your stroll down boulevard Saint-Germain, make a detour at rue de Bellechasse. At number 18, stop for a moment in front of Société d'Agriculture de France. Then look left of the entrance. There you will notice a small, unremarkable notch, with neither an inscription nor explanation. It indicates the high-water mark of 1910, when the Seine overflowed its banks, rising 8.62 meters.
