Date back to 1383, the temple was built in Lanna architecture and the pagoda is in Chiang Saen style to enshrine a piece of bone said to be from the shoulder of the lord Buddha brought to Lanna Kingdom by a wandering monk from Sukhothai. Since then, the temple became the most important temple in Chiang Mai and is still a working monastery until now.
Upon arrival, you will see a Naga Serpent Staircase, a walkway with over 300 steps, which you can enjoy climbing up to the temple or you can use the lift service on you right hand side and possibly walk down the staircase or take a lift down, as the option is yours.
