Located at the top of Cerro San Cristóbal hill, el Parque Metropolitano is one of the largest urban parks in the world. Yet this verdant oasis might never have existed. Until 1921, the hill actually lacked vegetation entirely. It was a group of young scouts that decided to replant the hill with trees. And what a resounding success!
