Located on a former gold mine, the Gold Reef City amusement park in Johannesburg is in fact a place of treasures for the young. However, adults can come to enjoy themselves as well since Gold Reef City has its very own underground bar. To get to the bar, head to Shaft 14, after having made a reservation for between 5pm and 9pm. The noisy lift delivers you 226 meters underground to a former stable where 300 donkeys hauled out close to 1.4 million kilograms of pure gold over the mine’s 90 years of operation.
