Dirty room with moths

The carpet in the room needed to vacuumed with stuff on it from the previous guest. There were stains on the carpet and months worth of dust built up in the corners of the room and the corners of the sofa. The bathroom tiles had mold inside and outside the shower, the sink was cracked in several places and the leaking of water from the wall to the toilet had stained the area and had not been cleaned. The broken toilet seat hinge had been repaired with welding instead of being replaced. Light switches were dirty and there were even moths in the room when I opened the door. Even the lift carpet smelt awful and was in obvious need of replacement. Needless to say that I will not be staying there again.

Very friendly staff at check in, lovely staff in the restaurant where I went for dinner. Bathroom smelt very strongly of bleach upon entering for the first few times, but smell did seem to fade away during my stay. Would def be back again due to value for money, location and amenities.

Service was on par. But compared to other Accor Accomodations we’ve booked in the past, even it’s stated there’s two of us staying, you guys only give 1 set of slippers/toothbrush/bathrobe. And down at reception, you don’t use your members priority lane.

We requested extra pillows. After 2 contacts they were never supplied. We requested room service of 2 toasted sandwiches and a hot chocolate. They were never sent to our room and staff on both counts did not call to say they were not available. It was too late when we realised our dinner was not coming and too late to go elsewhere so we missed out on dinner.

The staff at the Mercure were very courteous. The room was disappointing as the carpets near the bar fridge needed replacing. I took offense at a very curt letter from your guest Services Agent, Raman, who advised me that your hotel's credit limit of $200 had been surpassed due to valet car parking charges and one meal charged to my room. I had until 9 pm that night to settle the account otherwise i would be charged additional charges! This letter left under my door the same evening was over the top and certainly dis-courteous. I wrote to Raman, no reply. expressing my dis-pleasure. I was not advised on your hotel's standard operating procedure in regard to the credit level upon registration. Can I suggest that guests are told of this matter at the commencement of a stay, the staff may inform guests of this policy. If this had been the case, I would have paid by credit card immediately for car parking which amounted to $200. As an Accor Plus member for several years, I took exception to these over-the-top correspondences from Raman. I suggest that you review your communication strategy simply reminding guests, on arrival, of this credit limit. Would I stay at the Mercure again, I would need to think twice. I would like to complement your staff on the whole. This letter from Raman certainly took the gloss off my stay. It was not needed.
