Try it, you’ll strike it!
Star-struck bowling
The Hollywood Bowl Cardiff is located in the Red Dragon Centre, a leisure, dining and entertainment venue situated on the banks of Cardiff Bay, opposite the Docks. Lace up your shoes, pick your teams and prepare to rock and bowl – there are 26 state-of-the-art bowling lanes at the Hollywood Bowl, as well as an American diner serving up New York, Texan and Californian-inspired dishes. There’s also a licenced bar where you can relax in a comfortable sofa in front of the giant TVs. Once you’ve struck out, you can try your luck in the amusement zone, with race car rallies, air hockey, American pool and old-school arcade games. The Hollywood Bowl can accommodate group bookings and parties, and there are always new special offers available so make sure you check the website before you go. The Red Dragon Centre is also home to the Grosvenor Casino, South Wales’ only digital IMAX screen showing 2D and 3D movies, and plenty of dining options, including Cardiff Bay Tavern and its famous pub steaks.
Super sports fun!
Just a few minutes from Central Station in the heart of Cardiff, you’ll find Superbowl UK, a ten pin bowling alley, laser tag venue and live sports bar. Here, there are 12 lanes available, including the VIP treatment where you can bowl privately in your exclusive area. VIP clients are also treated to their own personal waitress who will bring you drinks and snacks all night long, so you can fully concentrate on your game. If bowling isn’t really your thing, there is also Laser Quest Cardiff, a huge UV tinted arena where you can test your skills as you hunt out your opponents armed only with a sci-fi laser gun! Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ve earned a rest in the new Basement Bar, equipped with flat screen TVs playing live sports round the clock. In the brand new Stadium Plaza you’ll find a 13-screen 3D cinema complex, a high-tech gym and the Bierkeller, a Bavarian style brewery where you can enjoy some of the best German steins and listen to traditional Oompah bands on the weekends. Whether you come for a game or just a drink before heading into next door’s Principality Stadium for a rugby game, Superbowl UK always promises to be fun-filled night out!
Ten pin that’s out of this world
If you’re looking for bowling in Nantgarw, there’s Tenpin Cardiff, located in Parc Nantgarw, about a 15-minute drive north of Cardiff city centre. Aside from the traditional game, Tenpin also has special Cosmic Bowling for a night to remember. Cosmic Bowling is on certain sessions and you’re invited to strike out as the lights go down, the pins glow bright and the music gets loud. You can really get into the party spirit and dress in your best neon outfit – the UV lights will turn you into a disco diva! The bars are fully stocked so you can enjoy a cold beer or cool cocktail while you wait your turn – but you’ll be the one to blame when you bowl a wobbly one! Who needs nightclubs when you’ve got Tenpin Cardiff?
